Ex Brewin Dolphin research head and board director Matthew Butcher has joined A&J Wealth Management as chair of its investment committee to oversee the client investment proposition. Butcher, more latterly CEO of Albermarle Street Partners, will work with Adam Hughes, Corporate Development Director. Hughes was formerly Head of Sales for 10 years at Neptune Investment Management.

Butcher commented “I am pleased to be joining A&J at such an important point in our growth journey. A&J is a progressive and client-focused organisation with a growing team of exceptional people. We will seek to attract and work with the very best wealth managers who share our values and vision"

Hughes said, “to entice someone of Matt’s ability and track record to A&J certainly suggests we are doing something right! He joins at a very exciting time when we have expanded our DFM services, which will take group funds under management to circa £500m. Matt’s credentials really bolster our existing centralised investment proposition and his past experience will be invaluable in executing our strategy.

Gareth Jones - A&J founder MD of 34 years, commented: 18 months ago, I set a corporate strategy to grow funds under management and expand our client investment offering within the advisory and discretionary fund management arena. The existing team have successfully over the last decade contributed to the growth of the group and successful migration of 5 external acquisitions along with organic growth. The strengthening of our Board of Directors and appointment of Adam was the 1st part of the strategy to help achieve the growth targets for the group. With Matthew joining the group as head of client investment proposition, this further strengthens the team to expand our group business activities. We warmly welcome Matt to the team and I personally very much look forward to working with him.
